Sarath Degala

Sarath Degala is the Founder and CEO of Healthcare-Impact (HCI). For the past 10 years, Sarath has provided financial, operational, and strategic consulting services to healthcare providers. Sarath has extensive experience in process redesign and financial improvement for hospitals and has spent much of his career in implementing solutions in the revenue cycle, supply chain, and productivity areas. Specifically, he has a very broad and deep experience in all components of the revenue cycle including patient access and registration, patient financial services, health information management, denials management, and case management.

Sarath has led numerous revenue cycle improvement initiatives, ranging from turnaround projects to focused redesign efforts for large health systems and stand alone community hospitals.  In addition, he has managed numerous projects in the areas of broad operations / performance improvement, strategic planning, and labor productivity for hospitals.

Prior to HCI, Sarath spent 5 years consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and also independent contracting with Huron/Wellspring. While serving at Pwc and Wellspring Sarath has led multiple cash acceleration and business office redesign initiatives, operational performance improvement efforts, and patient access projects. Sarath has also spent time in the healthcare industry on the provider side at Orlando Regional Medical Center and also Emory Healthcare. During the years spent within the hospital, Sarath was responsible for the strategic planning and financial forecasting of new service line offerings, budgeting, patient access and patient financial services.
